Anyone else planning on buying Warhammer: Age of Reckoning?

I'm in the closed beta, and have already pre-ordered.

You heard wrong... sorta.

They did cut 4 classes out... from 24.  So there are only 20 classes left to choose from.  /sigh

And they did remove 4 cities... kind of.

WAR is a Realm vs. Realm MMORPG.  The original 6 "cities" were going to be the culmination of the clash between Order and Destruction.  The cities have now been replaced by "fortresses", which after taking 2 of the 3 opposing faction's fortresses, opens the opposing faction's single major city.

I think this may actually help the PvP in WAR.  Instead of having the entire realm spread out across 3 major cities, the entire server's focus is entirely in one zone... bringing massive battles to take/defend the city.

So, yeah, they did cut some content.  However, how can you cut something that you never had to begin with?  WAR will be what it is, even with those changes.

I waited over a year for my invite... there are only around 32k people in the closed beta.  Over 800k have applied.  Still worth it!

Did you order the SE or the CE?  And I'll be rolling Destruction, probably a Black Orc.  I'll post what server I plan on rolling on when the Head Start begins.

Where did you pre-order from?  Are you going to be in the open beta?

Honestly, I can't wait to try Tier IV RvR to see what the classes are like at the higher levels.  That will probably finalize what class I'll roll for the head start as my main.

The open beta begins on September 7th. 

I've got a couple of RL friends I game with that are going to play, and hopefully several more as release gets closer (including some old skool LcT folks like Skyy and ArabianGoggles).

I'll post up what server we (my 2 RL buddies and I) roll on and character names tomorrow when the Preview Weekend starts, if anyone is interested.

The game is a lot of fun.  They took some great ideas from successful games like WoW, included pvp as a staple of the game and designed around it like DAoC, threw in some revolutionary new ideas and created a very nice product.  It's not perfect in terms of mechanics, there are some things that I would have done differently - but in all honesty I really haven't used those tools enough to determine if they really are teh suck.

The released a new cinematic at the GC yesterday.  Pretty freakin' nice.

Just so that I understand.Does WaR has a storyline?
Is the gameplay similar to WoW in the sense that you can do quests and such,or is it straight PVP?

And tomorrow I am going to reserve the game,so I will also be in the open beta
By the way,I am assuming that the game which will be sold starting on the 16th will also come with 30 days free trial

Is it open to everyone(open beta) participants or is it just for closed beta people?
